Head of Nursing
We are seeking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Nursing to lead our nursing team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our nursing practice, ensuring the highest standards of care, and driving strategic initiatives across the organisation.
Job responsibilities:
• Responsible for compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by Ministry of Health and Singapore Nursing Board.
• Oversees and responsible for the daily operations of the Home.
• Leads and manages the clinical staffs in delivering excellent clinical and service qualities.
• Leads quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care. Ensures quality audits are planned and conducted periodically, and follow up with areas for corrective improvements.
• Ensures written policies and procedures and work processes are available and up-to-date to guide the nursing care delivery.
• Conducting nursing rounds to identify clinical and service issue with the aim of addressing and closing gaps in care.
• Communicating and collaborating with intra- and inter-departmental staff, residents and relatives to ensure care coordination and integration.
• Ensures the smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and return to the community, where possible.
• Manages care of the residents to ensure compliance to standards.
• Implement strategies and workplans to optimize the clinical care and evaluate and improve the work processes and practices.
• Evaluate and plan the objectives accordingly the operational and financial aspects/targets.
• Serves as a resource person and provides clinical expertise to the healthcare team on professional and nursing matters.
• Acts as a role model in clinical practice. Initiates clinical quality improvement and research activities to enhance resident care management and improve practices.
• Reaches out proactively to residents and their families regarding care needs.
• Develop staff competencies, promote clinical contributions and conducts continuous assessment and evaluation of staff’s clinical performance and professional conduct. Provides feedback and guides staff towards improvements in clinical and service performance.
• To participate actively in SNM and nursing committees.
• Assists the DON/CEO in all duties and deputises in his/her absence as needed
Job requirements:
• Degree in Nursing or equivalent (health-related)
• Advanced Diploma in Nursing (nursing-related) or working towards
• Preferably five years’ or minimum two years of working experience in a similar position in a medium or large-sized Nursing Home in Singapore
• Registered Nurse with current SNB Registration
• Evidence of continued professional development
